Voluntary for King Jesus Charity Home Ghana
Experience a different culture and exciting Ghanaian traditions, while you are actively working to help children and needy Ones. You will volunteer to participate actively in King Jesus Charity Home work, where we help to take care of street children, needy youth, orphans, destitute babies and children to a better life.
King Jesus Charity Home (KJCH) is a Christian Charitable Educational Centre that takes care of street children, needy youth, orphans, destitute babies and children. K.J.C.H also gives free basic education to these children through classroom education at the primary level for them to continue at the Public School outside. We also give free vocational training to those who need them through our workshops, (hairdressing, seamstress, and T.V and Radio repairs).
Residence:
You choose how long you want to volunteer. However, we recommend that you get at least three weeks. There is ample opportunity to travel around Ghana during or after your work as a volunteer (Buy any. Brandt Guidebook, Ghana).

Room and board:
King Jesus Charity Home has one room with seating for two volunteers. There is toilet and bath beside the room. Accommodation + meals (morning and evening) dollars $ 1,000 or £ 700 euro. month, per. person.

Travel:
KLM, Lufthansa and British Airways flights to Accra, Ghana. You can check online what is cheapest in the period you wish to travel. It is always a good idea to book your ticket as early as possible, as this will usually be cheaper.
Airport pickup:
King Jesus Charity Home house is located four hours drive from Accra, Kumasi in the city. Since you will arrive in Accra late evening, it's a good idea to stay overnight before continuing your journey to Kumasi by bus. We offer to pick you up at the airport on you to pay for transportation and hotel accommodation (about 250). If you have not traveled in Africa or alone before, so we recommend this solution.
Insurance:
It is important that you purchase good travel insurance before departure.
Visa:
You must apply the Ghanaian embassy in your country for a visa before traveling. Your application must be submitted within one month before departure. Vaccinations:
Contact your doctor well before departure, to get the necessary vaccinations. Which vaccinations you need depends on how long you will stay in Ghana. Discussions also with your doctor about preventative malaria medication.
Currency:
In Ghana Cedis called money. You can bring Euros or Dollars, which can be converted into Cedis when you come to Ghana. We recommend you bring a Visa card. (Get like your bank to make an extra visa card to you if your card is stolen.)
